Pema is run by the Mahlknecht family and is one of the famed valley's leading workshops in the art of woodcarving. All Pema carved wood statues are made in their own workshops using their own designs. The many attempts to imitate the carvings bear witness to the great world wide popularity and desirability of their work.

Pema woodcarvings are made of selected mountain lindenwood dried and seasoned for years, sometimes decades, then meticulously painted and decorated by hand. For Churches, collectors, and lovers of fine art, these woodcarvings will be admired and valued for generations. This is a small sample of what is available.
