St. Joseph Medals Everything we know about St. Joseph, husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus, comes from Scripture. We know he was a carpenter, a working man. We know St. Joseph was a compassionate and that he was man of faith, obedient to whatever God asked of him without knowing the outcome. We know St. Joseph loved Jesus. St. Joseph left his home to protect Jesus and Mary, and returned to settle not in his home town, but in the obscure town of Nazareth. St. Joseph is the patron of the dying because, he died with Jesus and Mary close to him, the way we all would like to leave this earth. Like much of the history of medals being worn by the faithful, though the practice is ancient, when St. Joseph medals became a common devotional practice is not known. It likely occurred no earlier than the 15th century. St. Joseph is the patron saint of the universal Church, fathers, carpenters, and social justice. Our St. Joseph Medals are made in the USA. 14 Kt gold also available. |
